Generalization refers ti identifying common or shared characteristics between two domains or problems such that models or one could be adapted or applied to the other.

Consider following examples.

  • Mammals are warm blooded, give live birth, have hair, and so on. An elephant is a  mammal. Therefore, it is warm blooded, give live birth, have hair.
  •  Solids dissolve faster if they are smaller and the solution is warmer. A specific solid is not dissolving fast so either its is big in size or the solution is not warmer.
